I WAS THINKING ABOUT PUTTING EXHAUST TIPS ON MY 87GT FLOWMASTER EXHAUST. DO THEY CHANGE THE SOUND MUCH (BETTER, WORSE?) AND DO THEY MAKE THEM FOR A GT SINCE IT HAS A TURNED DOWN PIPE ? ANY THOUGTS ARE WELCOMED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I have seen GT's with crome tips. They point down at a 45 degree angle and look like a sore thumb. Seen a few where they cut round holes in rear valence and crome tips came through hole. Not bad looking, but do you want to cut up your car. Its your car do what you think will make it look best. All you have to do is please yourself and not worry about what any one else thinks.

Tips on the tailpipes should not change the tone, I have seen some chrome turndowns that look good if they do not hang out much, personally I do not like the threw the bumber exhaust on the Gt because of having to cut holes in the rear valance, but this can look good if done very carefully.

You could get a cobra bumper cover and put stanless/crome tips on and it and it would not look like you hacked your stang.
