13's at last 13's at last!!!!!

Well, it's been a long arduous journey but I hit the 13's for the first time yesterday and I'm stoked, but now I want to go faster!! Went to the track in May and ran 14 flat with only one wheel spinning, so I put in an Auburn in June and couldn't get to the track til yesterday. The place was packed so I only got 3 runs, but nailed it down on my second run. Here's my run for those who are interested:
R/T .576
60' 1.922
330 5.732
1/8 8.902
mph 77.59
1000 11.658
1/4 13.982
mph 96.91

congrats man, feels great dont it http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
you cut it about as close as i did my 1st 13sec run, i ran a 13.99, cant cut it much closer than that
thats a pretty damn good time for 96mph, your 1.9 60ft time really helped you out, i've only got 3 runs after i got my Nitto's and my T-5 conversion so i havent learned the best way to launch at the track yet, how did you launch yours, and what pressure did you have in them?
congrats again

I ran my time in sig, but around 97 mph, it's all in that 1.9 60', i got 1.9 with some vht sprayed down, i went 8.8 in the 1/8mi, i was happy that night, cuz i am on stock suspension, and little tires, and had the stock h-pipe, no swaybar.

Cool man!! I remember those days. I'm trying to get into the 12's at 3000ft elevation. My best run was with an overgeared combo. I ran 13.50 at 107mph with 4:63 gears. I had a crappy 60' of 2.01 with 26x10" slicks. Since then I've gotten subframe connectors, 4:10 gears and a solid lifter cam. I'm shooting for 12.90's on the motor and 11.80's on the spray. I'll keep you guys posted. I really need suspension work done. Any donations? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Hey fivohpatrol, I ran my Nitto D/R's at 18lbs and launched at about 3000rpm. An ex-mustang guy helped me out alot the last time I was at the track with the launching and setting the right air pressure. My last run I launched at around 4000 and smoked the tires bad. The mph threw me off a little too, I ran a 14 flat last fall at 99mph.

so did you bring it up to 3000rpm and then dump the clutch or did you slip the clutch off the line, when i did it i just dumped it at 2000rpm and it spun pretty bad, but that was the first day that i had the tires so i dont think they we're broken in yet

Well I just dumped the clutch at 3000, but I heated up the tires really well with the burn out. I pulled back to the front of the water box just far enough to get part of the tires wet and cooked 'em up til I saw smoke. I heard that the Nittos need to be heated up much more than the BFG's and it has worked for me so far. You have to play with it because too little and you bog, too much and you smoke the tires.
