Faulty Gauges

hey guys enough from me about power now i need help about faulty gauges. First of all my gas gauge does not work. When I bought the car the gauge would move in increments of 1/4 (ex. full to 1/4 to 1/2 etc.) but now it doesnt work at all. i think it may be the sender. Also the temp gauge doesnt move very much it stays on the bottom all the time rarely moving. Is this normal? I have not checked the thermostat which i shall do soon
thanx

Most likely your sending unit, if you are going to do it i would suggest upgrading the fuel pump as there is no sense dropping the fuel tank twice. The sending unit for water temp is on the lower intake manifold and is bad, mine did the same thing. Use rtv black on the threads and make sure you ask for the unit for a guage. John

Is this a difficult process. Dropping the fuel tank sounds like it is fairly lengthy but i dont know. tahnks for your help

You can do it.

Also, don't waste your money on repairing the stock gauges (water temp, oil pressure, etc.). They're junk to begin with. Go spend $60 and get a set of Autometer Sport Comp mechanical gauges. You'll be glad you did!

Take care

Yes. Their sending units mount in the stock locations.
