I need some help, i realize that some of you are tired of questions from new people..

But I am stuck between a 94 vert GT, and a 95 GTS (what is the GTS exactly, i cant see any obvious difference between that and the GT) The 94 Vert has 35K less miles but will obviously be more difficult to make fast... i am looking to go high 12's and daily driven, would Intake manifold, pullies, x pipe, cat back, headers, TB, MAF, CAI, timing, 3.73, and proper fuel be enough? Probably not? Do I need Explorer heads, and a cam? thanks for the advice.

The GTS is a stripped down version of the GT. It was only made for a year and doesn't feature power windows or a spoiler (there are probably some other minor things that weren't available as well).

As far as which car to go with, it's really a question of what you're looking for. I'd go with the convertible, but that's because I've always wanted one. If you're more interested in performance, go with the GTS. With the mods you've listed you would be in the mid-13 second range. You would need a supercharger or a good set of aftermarket heads to get in the 12s.

I agree with 89 cobra lx. I would go with the 94 cause it is the 30 yr mark of mustang and if they both have 5.0 in them than it will not be that much behind the GTS. The weight is not that much more. Only about 100-200lb i think. Just my $0.02. good luck with what ever you buy

The mods you have listed might be good for high 13's with great driving(for the GTS)but alot of SN95's still see low 14's.

To see high 12's with the vert is no easy task. You will need heads, intake, cam and all the rest. Even with the heads it's going to be tough to hit 12's.

I also don't think the Explorer heads are going to cut it on either car. I'd get the AFR 165's (I wish they had them when I did heads)from what I've seen they make a great street head. An aluminum head will save you 40 pounds also.

If you do heads and intake there is no reason why you wouldn't also put in a cam. A cam matched to the heads is very important.

I'd get the vert, less miles, more fun and a good challenge to get into the 12's.

Good luck!

Personally, I'd stick w/ an 89-93 5.0, or if you're dead set on modulars, I'd choose either a newer Cobra or '00-'01 GT. If it's definetly a choice between these 2 or nothing, I'd go w/ the GTS (the verts too heavy and will take some extra $$$ to see the 12's). Also, the GTS will weigh a little less, cause it's a little "stripped down". Good luck w/ your choice.

I dont remember saying anything about modulars...94/95 are both 5.0 if I remember correctly.

95 GTS, and put a spoiler on it !!!!

Another thing to think about that hasn't been mentioned is you will need a roll bar for the convertible for both safety and chassis strength. I also agree there is nothing like a convertible!!!
