Interior painting
 

I've decided to paint my interior black, but I want to use some good paint that wont crack, fade, and will last long. What do you guys recommend? Anyone done this?

i painted my interior with a rustoleum flat black, I only did it a year ago so i have no answers on how soon it may fade and what not. the best i can say is it still looks good now .goodluck !

Wet sand the plastic with a nice fine paper, this will get all the dirt and grime up - use a type of alcohal(prep pad) to clean up the rest - Then use a hi-quality 'plastic paint' something that is made to be flexible.. I have painted a few interiors black, first you need to really clean the plastic with 409 a soft brush a hose to wash it off. Make sure all the dirt is gone. Next you need some plastic prep, (I use SEM Plastic Prep) this stuff cleans all oils, grease, etc. off the plastic. Its really important to make sure you work this stuff in with a clean rag. The last step is to paint, I use SEM LANDAU BLACK, 15013. This stuff is not cheap about $7.00 dollars a can, it goes on real nice because they use a quality nozzle. Its really hard to do a bad paint job. You can find all this stuff at a good automotive paint shop. I have one car I did this with 5 years ago and it still has not peeled. If any should rub off, usally the kick panels, its really easy to touch up.

I painted mine black last summer, turned out good. I first sanded slightly and used a interior paint called MARHYDE. Works very well!

I ripped out the whole dash and center consoel and painted them. I also painted the kick panels and doors. The doors look really good!

I thought the dash was a ***** . I didn't have a steering wheel puller and wished I did. I would get that because the dash comes out in one huge piece.

Hey Leo, I just wanted to remind you that if plan to you pull out your dash you may want to pick up a heater core also and save yourself some trouble later. Once the dash is out it's really not that hard to get to.

car looks great. Also can you remove just the lower portion, ac/vent panel control down to the arm rest. this is my only area besies my door sills that may need a nice new coating. Thanks..

Give Molecubond a try. It is a relatively new product made for exactly what your doing. I have only seen grey and black as colors so far. You can find it at Wal-mart.
