E7TE heads

are mustang E7TE heads the same as truck E7TE truck heads? Heard that these were a cheap trick to bump compression on my 82 from 8.4:1 to 9:1.

Anybody have any cheap ones?
Thanks

They are the same heads. I don't know how much it will change compression though. Check the classifieds here and check Jeff Chambers' website. I am pretty sure I saw some there for sale.

A factory 82 5.0 didn't come with E7's. I beleave that 87 was the first for them.

I put some on my 86 they came off a 89 mustang but yes the truck ones are the same if your pistons are like mine with no valve relives then it will bump up compression but check your clearance

CobraR - I know that they weren't on 82's that would explain why I am looking for them.

I'm pretty sure 82's are not flat-tops, that was 86 only.

you can also mill your E7's to achieve a higher compression.
good luck

Matt Cook - are you sure that the 82 pistons aren't flat topped? I thought that anything pre 87 did not have valve reliefs. Not sure, but it would make sense to me.

I really don't know, never pulled it down, but it seems like the mags only talk about the 86's as being problematic?
