Start Up Cling and Clang?

About six months ago the fastback's engine started clinging and clagging upon start up it would go away rather quickly. But I wasn't satisfied because it never had made noises. So what I did I put in ticker grade oil another oil filter. Went away then for sometime then came back decided to drop the pan change the oil pump, lifters, and push rods. Completely went away for four months. Then four days ago I raced an 89' 5.0 the wierd thing is I only reved in between 3-4 grand through out the race. For the past three days following that race that same cling and clang is back on start ups. If the car has been sitting for 2 or more hours. I'm really concerned now because even my oil pressure is varying or so the stock oil pressure gauge says but its been doing that for a while also. Could it be time to start saving up to piece the engine I have on the side? I was also thinking about going with 100 shot nitrous could this ultimately seal the engines fate?
