A-trim maxed out?

I have an A-trim forcing air down a 347 with windsor jr. heads at 5 lbs. With a gt40 lower, boxed upper, and long tubes I did a 11.8 in the Q/m. I now have Canfield heads on the way that flow over 300cfm and the intake has been cut and welded to give the heads the air they want. With all my mods this combo should do mid 10's. I think that A-trims flow 750 cfm @10psi, is this enough to put me in the 10's or should I upgrade to a t-trim.

I say ditch the A-trim. But a T-trim? Is this thing a hardcore racer? Not to steer you away from big power, but if you're on a budget I'd think more along the S-trim lines. If your budget is willing, to hell with the S-trim...get the T-trim. Those things make some damn good boost numbers.

Go with the T-trim, my friend had a similar combo and he started with a YS trim and ended up selling it after 25 or so passes and went to the T-Trim. You can get the T-trim in both drivers and passenger side mount. The passenger side mount has a straighter discharge tube which helps flow http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif He went 10.06 @ 138MPH and his was a 306 not a 347. Good Luck http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

84_gt350, I want to skip the S and get the T because I don't want to upgrade again ($$$). Also, the T-trim is more efficient then the S-trim.

rick 91gt, Why did your friend sell the YS for the T? I thought the YS was better then the T.

Or, buy a Novi 2000 and be done with it. No more upgrading, since it's good for 5-27psi.

He didn't like the curve of the boost on the YS it fell of at top more then the T, I don't think he was getting good boost until around 4000 where it really came on. He recently sold the car because it wasn't streetable and he missed coming out cruising on the weekends but he just picked up a 92LX with the Novi, he is getting 19lbs of boost out of it and hopes to run solid 9's and the car is fully legal, is passes MD emissions and inspection. He likes the Novi, he said it is growing on him, but he was really happy with the T-trim, if the car he bought wouldn't have had the Novi he would have bought the passenger side mounted T. Either way I think you are in good shape, I persoanlly like the brackets and tensioner on the Paxton Novis better then the Vortech's. I eventually plan on putting on a D1 Procharger I like the idea of intercooling. I have heard Paxton is working a intercooled sytem using a Spearco intercooler, they had pic's of it in last months 5.0 mag, I may look at that as well.

Damn, I kept saying passenger side and I ment drivers side mount has the straighter discharge tube, DRIVERS SIDE NOT PASSENGER SIDE http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/redface.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/redface.gif

Very streetable and very fast.
You won't be sorry.
I got mine from Rockford Motorsports in Illinois... very resonable.

Contact Craig (PWR_RYD93) he is friends with the owner of Rockford Motorsports. Craig is a real nice guy and may be able to help you out with any info or question you have. He runs low 10's with his S-Trim. Craig has been able to help me out a couple times, I have nothing but good things to say about him http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif
