Plug wires

I tested my Motorsport wires with a digital ohm meter and they get erratic numbers when I move the wires at all. I even found a few cracks in them as well when cleaning them. So what are everyones wires of choice???

I was planning on a garden variety set of Accel 8.8's from Murrays.

I have the Accel 300+ Ferro Core wires. If you check out the cores cross section it's much larger than the Taylor 10.9 that everyone runs,& they're cheaper to boot. I have had no probs with mine. They were recommended by Job Spetter.

MSD Superconductors. They have great boots that are long and bendable so they are easy to pull off and you can keep them away from your headers. They also have the least resistance of any other wire out there.

I've got to get a set quick. I want to dyno tomorrow!

87Vert I did sell my GT-40 for 375 bucks.

I hate to say it, but 9mm Motorsport wires have done the best for me. The MSDs have just totally bit the dust (3 sets, and that gets to be too expensive after a while). I've heard good things about Accel 300+ wires but they might be a lot more money. Basically just go with what you think is best for you, anything other than plain jane murray's discount wires...

jimberg 10-26-2001 08:47 PM

How have the MSDs bit the dust? Were they the super conductors?

I just picked up a set of Accel 300+ wires.

60 bucks from Ramchargers.

My Motorsport wires looked fine until I cleaned them, then put the OHM meter on them. I also found some boots that actually look chewed on.

That got me to thinking, what other wires are little critters chewing on in my garage!!!!

I have a mixture of Taylor wires, FMS wires, and some I picked up at pepboys, cuz they keep getting melted on my headers.

It runs as well as ever!

I run Splitfire wires. Tested them against Accel's 8.8's with a digital multitester, the Splitfires's blew them away. Seem to be holding up really well, and they come with a lifetime warranty.
