Working on a stock 302...

First of i would like to state that im only 16 so some of these questions might sound dumb to you.

Can someone give me a list of things/parts i should get to help beef up my car, and if you could write what it does and how much it costs. So i dont have a stock 302 anymore.

First off, no such thing as a dumb question.. It's great that you're doing the research on your car.

Couple of things that will give you some additional flywheel HP:

1) Don't know what year stang your 302 is, but if it's EFI - remove the silencer from the passenger side fender well.

2) Install a K&N filter around $40

3) Install pullies - less than $100
you will need impact to remove alt nut.

4) If you can, get ride of the stock h-pipe and exhaust for aftermarket. This is a more time consuming expensive but well worth it upgrade can spend around $800 and up to top of the line stainless steel h-pipe and cat back.

5) upgrade the gears to 3.55 or 3.73 this will give you quicker runs.

I would also add that you should beef up the fox body chassis, which are way to flexible. Start will welded sub frame connectors, then add a strut tower and a g-brace. These add seat of the pants improvements and definetly makes the car more fun to drive not to mention ready to handle more power in the future.

Real power STUFF I Have and will put some time: Mac cold intake, 70MM TB, Valve covers (COOL ONES)255 Fuel pump NOS Dry 75HP, AFR 165 58cc, GT-40 Intake.
Next to get: Rocker Arms,Cam,Injectors 24, What might I need???See It at www.computerconquest.com

I hear a lot of people suggest to add aftermarket pulleys to 'stangs, do these mess with the balance or harmonic dampener? I have heard of that being a problem (on imports), wondering if there was any downside to pulleys.

Pulleys will have no problem. But may not have as much volts for a big Stereo in the car.

Installation of pullies will not affect any of that. The only problem you may encounter is a lower amp reading. You can change this by just upgrading to an alternator from a 94.

------------------
90 GT shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust, off-road h-pipe, 3.73 gears, hurst short throw shifter, GT-40 heads

Also if it is legal where you live you might try an aftermarket x-pipe for a five speed car (about $170) or an off-road H-pipe w/o cats (about $110) that might bring the over-all cost of an exhaust upgrade down to a more reasonable level for you. X-pipe or H-pipe and cat-backs should only be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400-450 dollars. Headers would also be a nice addition but you would have to blow a little more coin. I also agree with Mustang_289 that a good set of 3.55's or 3.73's would give you a whole lot of seat of the pants acceleration. Hope this helps.

The 94 had a bigger alternator then other years? I have a large stereo in my 94, do I want to skip the alternator pully if I install them?
