i figured out the "sprague"...
 

my spelling was wrong, it is sprag, apparently an overrun clutching mechanism in the 4 speed tranny's that serves as the o/d band and engine brake when coasting...if they don't engage the tranny will freewheel...parts seem to be available...i will dive into the tranny this weekend and let yall know http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
