my first mustang
i live in ny ny and i just purchased a 1996 mustang. i know the car is built for speed, but in the city you can only go between 10-30 mph. i noticed the temperature goes to high when i'm sitting in traffic. is this normal or does the car need to have speed to cool down

I have a 90 Mustang and it does the same thing. It is the electric fan that isn't running off the belt like older cars and it doesnt turn on until it gets to about 3/4 of the temperature gauge. If I'm in a line at a fast food place it will heat up to over half then once I'm driving it will cool down to the normal temp cause of the air dam pushing air through the radiator to cool down.
