Which tranny gear is this?

The tranny I just bought had a speed sensor on it and it has a black gear with twenty teeth. Does anyone know which ratio this is for?

What kind of tranny? AOD? if it's got a speed sensor and not a cable it's probably off of a T-Bird, cougar, or some other merc or lincoln. Check this out if it's a T5,
http://www.coolcats.net/media/T5info.xls

it will tell you the speed drive gear teeth number, then you might be able to figure out the ratio somehow. I know of a page that will tell you exactly what you want to know, but I can't find it right now, I'll be looking.

The 20-tooth black gear is part number C1DZ-17271-A. It would work with 3.73:1 gears if you've got the 7-tooth drive gear which was stock for most T5's.

I've copied the table from the FRPP catalog and have a javascript calculator for the speedo gears on my website. Just follow the URL in my sig.

Hey Jeff, would you know if a 92 T-5 has that 7-tooth gear? I have read that the 90-93 T-5's have 8 teeth yellow gears...

I would suspect 7-tooth. The 93 T5 I bought new from D&D had a 7-tooth in it. I haven't seen a production T5 with the 8-tooth in it.
Only way to know for sure is to count the teeth. Use a mirror on a stick and you should be able to see/count the teeth.
