interchangability of heads and intake

I am horribly confused. I am looking at heads and intakes for a 351w and I'm wondering how simmilar the intakes are. eg, would a gt-40 intake work with edelbrock victor heads? what about trickflow twisted wedge? Also, are upper and lower intakes interchangable?

Those intakes should work with Edelbrock Victor heads. What do you mean about the lower intakes being interchangable? Like the Trick Flow upper working with the GT40 lower? That definitely won't work. All intakes have unique characteristics that won't work with others. If you mean starting with the GT40 and then changing over to a Trick Flow, that'll work fine.

that clears up some of it, but my big question is can I use any intake lower with any set of heads?
