Lost Steering

Recently I have been converting to duel exhaust and I had to drop my steering about 2 inches for header clearance. The problem is I lost about a half turn of steering. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks

I bet you put on Tri-Y headers didn't you? Let me take another guess....you can't turn left?

Mine always did this, it's one of the reasons I put JBA's on mine. The good news is that eventually, the idler arm will crush the tube enough to regain some of the lost turning radius, you can guess what the bad news is....you lose a lot of flow through that header. I've always wondered if this was the reason that Shelby changed the idler and pitman arms on his cars, but no one has ever been able to tell me.

Not saying it didn't help the header problem but I heard the Shelby switch was for increaced effective steering ratio.
