79 cobra w/351......
 

I'm thinkin abot pickin up a friend for dir cheap.....It's got a 351 in it but it's also got Rack and pinion problems....how hard is this to fix.....also there's a little hole on the lower front of the carburator that squirts gas pretty good...It looks like there may have been a smal plug in there or something....it's the original carburator that came on the 302 can anyone let me know what this could be??

biggest prob i had ws finding a rack.. trw & fomoco were the only styles of R&P in this model.. & i had the fomoco.. had to go 3 states away to get a basic rack... trw's werent any easier....hope you have / had better luck than i...

Northern Auto Parts (they have their whole catalogue online) has a wide assortment of rebuilt racks about as reasonable as you will find.

The litle hole? Maybe used to have an idle mixture adjustment needle in it? Is there a screw-like deal about the same location on the other side of the carb? Just a silly thought.
