Radio

Has anyone used the radio dash repair panel for a 65'? How did it look and how hard was it to install?
Also where can I find a rear panel (the one that opens into the trunk) for a 65 fastback, I've looked at OKC Mustang and Mustang Unlimited among others. Does no one make a replacement?

I replaced the radio panel. Ideally, you are suppose to remove the old plate. However, I managed to istall it on top of the other one. I had to grind up some metal. It sound like I killed it, however, I did a better job than my friends mustang that was replaced by a so called "Profesional." If one sees the job I did, you could hardly tell that it was replaced after everything is in place. I guess I am a genius or something.

Bonehead,
As far as the door between the back seat and trunk, it's called a trap door. I am sure there is no aftermarket one available so you will need to check out used ones, Either through salvage yards or swap meets, I saw one a few weeks ago at a swap meet for $50. I am also looking for one to fit my car.

I installed the dash/radio patch but I cut out the section between the glove box and the insterment pannel. Welded the patch in and sanded and painted. You can not tell from the front side that it had been done.
Very pleased!

Bonehead,

There is a Mustang and Ford show at Town West Mall in Wichita on May 20th. They usually have a swap meet and you might get lucky finding your part if you check it out. I've been show prepping my 96 so I'll be there on that Saturday. You oughtta bring the 65 out (If it's driving) at least to the parking lot - I'd like to see it.

Thanks for the info, hopefully the fastback will be getting painted the week of the Towne West event, but I plan on being there, I'll look for you.
