Choke Tubes and Headers?

On my '67 convertible, I recently pulled off the stock exhaust manifolds and replaced them with headers (as part of a tranny swap). On the old passenger side manifold, there were two connections for the choke tubes that ran to the carb. There aren't any such connections on the new headers. Any idea what to do with the tubes?

Bubba,
I have heard that some header company's offer what they call a "stove pipe" that clamps around the header pipe and allows heat to flow. I have never seen one of these but that tube needs to receive heat to make your choke work correctly. If you don't get a good response from someone I know of a few more sites that someone might know the answer.

I would guess you could plug the carb ports and convert to an electric or manual (cable) choke. For the parts to do this try pony carbs www.ponycarbs.com .

Here are some other options.
