1967 Glass
I have a 1967 Mustang Fastback that I am slowly but surely put back together. she was ina an accident and was turned on her side, but i dont think she rolled. The windshield is shattered and I need a new one. Any ideas? Also the top left corner just above the windshield is dented in> Is it me or am I gonna have to cut away the inner metal to pound this out. I think it can be done. Any ideas?

I would first check with local windshield replacement places, they should be able to order a windshield. Carlite (search the web) is the official Ford glass supplier but I don't know if they retail to the public.
Fixing the dent on the windshield frame could be tricky, can you take the car to a body shop? If the frame is not bent, you may be able to use a slide hammer with a great deal of care. Welding studs to the dented area and pulling on them with the slide hammer is preferred to the old practice of drilling holes, inserting screws to pull on. |
The windshield on my '67 is a bit scratched so I checked at the local glass replacement shop. They will replace it for just over $200.
