steering box adjustment
 

Any suggestion on the easiest way to adjust the steering box?

first steering box on what most have a worm gear ajestment

I have a 67. the steering box has a nut with a bolt through it. The bolt has a straight slot in it. I tried to turn it using a large flathead and vise grips, but it would not budge.

Back the nut off with a box wrench 9/16? while holding the screw with a screwdriver.The nut will turn when you adjust the screw one way or the other so you may need to back off the nut a bunch.When you get the adjustment where you want it be sure and hold the screw in place and tighten the nut.
