Seat Belts

Hi,
Stupid question but. My 65 doesn't have seat belts. I don't know if the carpet is original so I don't know if there are bolt holes under there. Did 65's come with seat belts? I need to know what to tell one of Mississipi's finest when they pull me over.
Thanks,
Brian

Hey Brian, I have a 65 coupe, and it has seat belts, but only in the front. maybe you can check under the carpet for the seat belt mounts. good luck

They were an option in all the way up to somewhere around 68 or 69 so if yours doesn't have them than either they were yanked out or never there to begin with.

Front seat belts were optional in 1965.
I think all the cars have bolt holes for the belts though.

Thanks guys,
I think I'll order a set and put 'em in. I don't think I would've been willing to drill. But if the holes are already there I'll do it. My job is as a safey manager and I know I'll not hear the end of it if I show up for work without seatbelts.
Plus there's the "explain to the nice trooper that they were an option" thing.
