300 engine swap?

Is it possible to swap a 300 inline 6 into my 66 coupe? It currently has a 200 in it that might be needing some engine work. A friend of mine has a junker '70 or so Ford truck and he said he would give me the 300 if I wanted it. I don't know anything about the 300 but I thought if it would fit (plus I would get it free) I would do that instead of rebuilding the 200. Let me know if i'm way off here... and as usual thanks for the help.

- will it fit?
- If so, what else would need to be done for the swap (motor mounts, exhaust, etc)?
- 66 with stock 200 and stock C4 tranny
- Brake/ axle upgrades needed?

I've heard the 300 is too tall to fit right.

Hey Michelle,
Thanks for the info. Too bad that engine is too tall as it would have been nice to do a free engine swap. When I do get to engine rebuilding time is it possible to bore the 200 out to a 250? I know, I know, people always say if you're going to go to any trouble just get a V8 car but I just want to have a peppy six. I think they're cool little engines.
Thanks again.
