wheel and tire help

I really want to get some Mickey thompson ET streets for the rear I am just not sure what will fit. I was thinking of going with the 26x10.5x15 on the MT web site it says u need and 8.5" rim. Will this fit under a stock 69 wheel well? If i can i wold even want to go bigger.

Wow, now that's alot of tire under a stock fender. I have a 68 and run 225/60/15. That is about the limit with stock sheet metal and rear spacing that I can fit.

A 9" slick on an 8-8.5" wheel would be much easier to fit, and a 9" slick with a good suspension will hook for 9 sec ets I know. A 10.5" slick will work on an 8.5" with a lot of sidewall flex, I would think 9" would be better for that sized wheel.

well right now i have 255/60/14 and they just go up in smoke. I have no traction at all and need to do something. I now with a 15 inch rim i can get way better tires.
