K.A.R. Mustangs

Hi, I live in The Netherlands, and I want to buy a Mustang in the US, because they are much more affordable over there..

I found a company called K.A.R. Mustangs, located in Columbus, Ohio. Does anyone happen to no this company, and know if they are good? I have an extra problem, since I probably won't be able to come to the states to the car out myself. Maybe someone has a good idea about how I can do this, without being screwed?

I have never purchased a car from them, but I have purchased both new and used parts in the past and never had any problems. As far as complete cars go, I have never heard anything negative and they do get a good dollar (by U.S. standards) for the ones that they sell. Most of the cars they sell however, do appear to be in great shape are turn key and need little if any additional work. A friend of mine was interested in a 66 fastback they were selling and I did see the video of the car they sent to him (pretty comprehensive showing the exterior, interior under carrige and engine (both off and running) and the video does give you a pretty good feel for the condition of the car. I would however exercise great caution in buying any car that I have not actually seen, heard or driven. If they have somthing that rings your bell, IMO it may be worth searching for a good deal on a plane ticket and a long weekend in Ohio to see it in person.

Thank you Jaydee. I guess I'll to fly to the states sometime this year. I have a friend who lives in Washington. From Washington to Columbus should be doable in one day I guess(?). You say that they get a good dollar, by that you mean that for US standards they're a on the expensive side? From the pictures alone I can tell that similar mustangs cost about twice as much over here... Offcourse you can find a lot more mustangs in the US than over here http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif..

Thanks again,
Bastiaan.

Checked their web site last night (have not looked at it in a long time)and their prices while not outrageous tend to be on the higher end of the market. But the quality of the cars they handle seems to range from very good to excellent and they do appear to go thru them pretty throughly prior to selling them. I'm assuming that based on where you live, parts and pieces would not be easy to come by and you are looking for a quality car. If so, their definitely worth a trip. By the way, the trip from Washington (I assume your talking Washington state not Washington D.C.) is easily do-able in a day by air. Good luck!!
