Straight 6

I have an old straight 6, i don't really want a rebuild it so does anyone know where you can buy them?

I've heard differences on opinions as far as quality goes, but go down to your local AutoZone and ask them. They sell remanufactured motors, and do have I6's.

When you say 'old', how old is the motor? What is the casting number on the intake log and block?

Just going by you SN (67), do you have the 250ci or the 200ci. Either way you best bet would be to rebuild the engine your self. There isn't much to those inline 6cyl. And they will run for ever. Check out PAW, or your local auto parts store, they might have a rebuild kit. This will save you a ton of money.

You certainly can have some fun with the Inlines and reall make them scream. The V8 guys never know what hit them http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

Why not have some fun? Bore it .030 over. Replace the pistons with a set of Tempo HSC flat-tops. Add a 260 Comp cam or 264 Clifford cam. Look for a '78 and later 200/250 head (they have the biggest intake log and largest valves as well as hardened seats for unbleaded fuel). Make sure to mill that head .060 because the compression dropped in the later motors. Replace the dizzy with a Durspark II electronic igniton and add an MSD or Crane box to it. Replace the engine driven fan with a flex-a-lite electric fan. Swap out the carb for an '80s Carter YF from a 300. Get rid of the traverse muffler. Add a single outlet header. etc...

A T-5 swap is a piece of cake on the Inlines, and that will make a huge difference. Couple that with a 3.55 rear, and most 5.0's are dust.
