no fire 66 mustang

Check feed to the distributor. Check the coil. Start with the primary voltage to the coil and check to see what comes out. Somewhere, theres a break.

You're talking about no spark from the spark plugs aren't you? Not failure to crank the engine?

Always start at the source. In this case check your connections at the battery and just backtrack from there through all your electrical components till you find your dead spot. Here is kinda a no brainer but could have been over looked. Make sure you have them firing in the right order. Also if you are running points and condenser in the Distributor try checking the gap and/or replacing the parts. Nice thing about older stangs is the ease of trouble shooting for most stuff.

Make sure the points are breaking. Are the connections tight at the points?? That the condensor is tight and the wire is not grounded where it attaches to the points. That the wire that goes into the dist. isn't grounded where it enters the housing. Do you have power at the coil?? When you turn it over you should be able to get a test lite to blink as the points open and close. Is the little bare ground wire that is inside the dist. there. If it isn't it won't run. Is the rotor is good shape, how about the dist. cap contacts underneath??

Shouldn't be that hard to find.
