rattle in the rear

hi agian everyone

here's one that no mechanic has been able to find since I've purchased the car.

68 coupe

to this day every time I drive over a speed bump or any other bump, there is a rattle under the rear of the car like something is hanging loose.
I've taken it to a number of garages and even up on the rack, they can't find a thing. They'll even take it for a drive and they hear exactly the same thing I've alway heard, that rattle.

Sound familiar?

Any help would again be appreciated.

Sure it isn't the tailpipe hitting the rear frame rail or top of a shock??

My axle housing hits the tailpipes where they arch over on really big bumps. That makes a shiny spot on the occasional contact spots. Easy to see from underneath. That's even with 5 leaf springs and good shocks.

Kind of a stretch here but how about a loose exuast hanger? Not meaning to imply that you or your mechanics couldn't think of that but its an idea.
