Ok what's the biggest size to fit on the 15" 10 holes?

Inspired by the smallest snow tire question.

My 90 needs new back tires. My 74 Laguna has 4 barley used Pep boys Futura GLS tires on it and wont be on the road that soon. I have 245 60R 15 on front 275 60 15 on rears on Chevy 15X7 Rally wheels. I also have a set of 255/60 15's with minimal tread, hmm what could I do with those??

So anywaysvI know all those tires will go on a 7" rim, but what 15" sizes fit well on the mustang,

The biggest you'll be able to go on the front with possible rubbing is 245/55 15's. Even those may rub a little at full lock, you may want to buy a steering limiter kit to prevent it. The 245/60's will rub for sure. If you had a '91 the wheel wells are a little better, you'd be able to pull the 245/55's for sure no problem.

I don't think you can fit anything bigger than maybe a 255/50 15 on the 10 hole rim safely. If you go to a higher aspect ratio you could, but then it'd throw your speedo out of whack, and I think you'll need to mount the quad shocks backwards for clearance.

I can't say with 100% certainty on the back.

Hi,
I have 225/60/15 and I get little rubbing on full turn (nothing major), but maybe it was cuz I got new springs and car is still adjusting to it. I dunno..

Anywho, what's the biggest one could fit in the back? 275/60/15? These (BFG Radial T/As) cost like $130CDN ($89US) at the place where I bought my curretn Firestone SS20s.

Bye!

The 90 has a nearly new set of 225/60-15's up front ( comp ta? cant remember) and wasted Eagle GT's out back. I was hoping the 245/60-15's would squeeze out back. I am not too worried about messing up the speedo as I will get a pair of 225/60's to match the fronts later. I just dont want to mount those tires and find out they hit something in the rear.

The pep boys Futura GLS's are the same price regardless of the size including 265/50-15 and 295/50-15's Those sizes definately need at least an 8" rim. Those 275's are certianly the maximum one could squeeze on a 7" wide rim but they are 28" tall and would not work out on the stang, look mean on the Laguna though.
