Sick of Les...
Well I got my latest issues of 5.0 and MM&FF and I see that Les Baer beat Mangrum in the final. Is it just me or is anyone else getting sick of Baer? Mabye I'm just mad b/c he started this whole tube-framed pro 5.0 phenomenon. I am hoping Glidden or Walsh or Gullett(or ANYONE for that matter) will put the smack down and whoop him in a final. I know it's an old topic but seeing the FFW final standings kinda pi$$ed me off.

I like him, he is like John Force, without a John Force attitude. Just remember, someone has got to be the MAN.

I'd give my left (ummmm) thumb to be in Les' place. He's worked VERY hard and spent bookoo bucks to become the 5.0 monster that he is. I'm not sure that I'd call him the absolute the top dog, but he's definitely the man that some of these other guys are out to beat. Of course, they're not exactly unknowns. It all makes for great competition in the Pro class.
I could only dream of being a household name amongst Ford racers like Les Baer is. ------------------ Jeff Chambers T/S #4 12.40 Seconds/109.5 MPH http://www.kellnet.com/chambers/default.htm |

Doug had Les beat in TX. in the final round until his already hurt motor gave up. I was talking to doug when Les came over and admitted to it after the race. Doug's in the process of building a motor so he will have a back-up to bring to the track with him next year. He know the motor was hurt before Ennis, but went anyway with fingers crossed to fulfill sponsor agreements. Watch out for him next year. He should be right there at the top.
