first time to the track...

Finally got out to the track in my stock 95 GT convertable (AODE) and got some times. http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif I really don't know how to get information out of it though. Am I getting enough traction, should my MPH be higher..?

R/T_____0.896
60'_____2.381
1/8_____10.184
MPH_____70.94
1000'___13.13159
1/4_____15.671
MPH_____89.66

Tack elevation 1850', and the weather was in the mid-40s to 50s.

To know for sure, you need to get a weight for your car. If the scales at the track aren't open, swing by a local truck stop sometime and get it weighed on their scales. I'd bet that a 95GT vert with you in it weighs in excess of 3600lbs. Using the info from your timeslip and the weight, you can go to the HP calculators on this site and get some estimates. Your MPH does look low to me. My 90GT ran 95MPH bone-stock.

For one definitely get that reaction time down. When you see the last yellow go on...leave!!. Your 1/8 mile time looks alright but something is not quite right with you 1/4 times. You should be around the 15.20 range(this is based on my past experience). Drop your air pressure down to 20 psi and get that 60' times lowered. Get it in the 2.15 area, that will improve you top end E.T. as well. Man I wish it would quit raining around here so we can go racing.

I look forward to the rain...it means the snow has stopped! We woke up to more snow this morning here in Ohio. The Spring Break Shootout is only three weeks away and it doesn't look like I'm even going to get the car out of the garage before we have to load it up and head for Florida.

Your mph is right on for the weight of your car. Your 60 ft time could be better. Each 0.1 sec reduction in the 60ft times reduces the 1/4 ET by 0.15 sec. So if you knock off say 0.38 sec in your 60 ft time; your 1/4 ET would be about 15.1 sec.

Try not to get discouraged. I ran the same numbers when I first started. But's it's getting better!

Those an not bad numbers for an AODE. My 5 speed 95GT convertible ran 15.2's at 90mph stock with 2.3 60's. Our cars are HEAVY! Mine car with me in it at Englishtown NJ weighed 3803lbs on a 97.2mph pass- this was before the intake, headers, T-body, etc. The lightest I ever had the car was 3510- this was with an 1/8th tank of gas, no spare, no jack, removed 2 mach 460 amps, removed trunk carpet and panel board, alum DS, and removed 25lb weight in the passenger side fender- you have this and can remove it without problems. Its a pain to get out though. If you look up into the fender right in front of the passenger side tire you'll see a black cylinder- this is it. Keep practicing. The best mod i did for the money was ASP underdrive pulleys- I went from 14.96 at 91.5mph to 14.60 at 94.89mph. Thanks for the positive support guys. I was really worried something might have been wrong with my car. Only cars I managed to beat that night were a 95 GT coupe and an old El Camino. I got stomped by the Camaros and Cobras out there that night... heck I even got beat by a Miata(he ran a 13.3@103.29). I'll be heading back out next month, hopefully it will get better.

jchambers, your comparing a 90 gt to a sn95 though? my notch ran 94 mph stock with air silencer and i sill have cats too.

Hey cad, where did you run your car? if you were at rcr then i seen that miata runnin low 13's

And those numbers sound right to me for an aod 95. But the 60' will get better with experience.
