Timing

I have my timing set to 15 degrees right now, and run 87 octane with out any pinging. I also have a Superchip(actual brand is Superchip) that came with the car when I bought it used. I have heard some people say that the superchip already advances the timing, but I have no idea if it really does. I know that having the timing set high hurts your gas mileage, but I wasn't sure how much and I would have to find a timing gun to test this out. How much would your timing effect gas mileage? Im asking this because at 15MPG gas is getting expensive being a poor college student =P
(sorry for long post)

Not sure about the chip, but I would be happy with 15mpg - I too am a 'poor college kid,' but I only get about 10-11mpg and have to use high-octane... Gas or food... hmmm http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...oard/smile.gif

Wow - I run mine at 14 and I get 19-20 MPG.

I also run my car at 15 degrees initial and it needs 93 octane to run. I'm amazed your running 15 degrees on 87 octane without detonation - My car would have a big time death rattle with that combo.
