No its not my car!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

The engine is a B16A2 (Civic SI) putting 196.5whp at the wheel N/A! Pretty impressive for a little 1.6L that produce ~135whp in stock form! Dont know what it run on the 1/4 it build for SoloII!

Its a nice sleeper!! but its no way near FAST!

Well with a 9500 redline and wild cams you need LOTS of flow... but anyway... thats not a ricey exhaust... its a mugen twinloop, the most quiet aftermarket exhaust ... and he got custom 2.5" piping!

Peace!

I doubt they make 135 hp stock at the wheels, probably closer to 125.

Im possitive here stock Civic SI usualy dyno between 132 and 140 wheel horsepowers stock!! Honda drivetrain is really efficient(sp?)!! and its a FWD so only ~15% lost! in hp!

Why are the dyno charts for hondas always bounce so badly? It looks like a heart monitor or something. No offence, Im just wondering.

Special K 04-03-2001 06:13 PM

No idea... but atleast its not going downhill after 4000rpm like ford engines! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif

PGkelly 04-03-2001 06:39 PM

yeah, that's a good point K. the DOHC really helps it keep the power on up trhought the range. i was fairly impressed, until i saw the peak torque: 99.6!
i guess you can't get much more from a N/A 1.6L! poor cvcc's
and then the supercharged cvcc on the second run? 177hp and 133ft-lbs.? not bad......but not what i'd call "good" either
still, it's respectable, but not for a drag car. solo II yes. but that's driving around cones in a parking lot.....

Yep... there is no replacement for diplacement!!... but its not like this engine was into a 3000 lbs car!!! a Civic SI weight about ~2600 lbs so... with a good driver its good for mid to low 15s !! of course some dumbass cant break into the 15s! .... go figure!

And about the supercharged civic... its only with the supercharger... with the usual I/H/E its more around ~200whp!

I could never drive a car with more than a 6000rpm power band. That'd kinda freak me out! For what it is that is a very nice, clean car that is tastefully done. I'd always prefer my 4500rpm power band, though, but i'm from a different school of thought i guess. I wish my car was nice......

Hehe, you guys think that's bad???

My 1st black 88LX Hatch 4banger A4LD's rev limiter was broken. Hehehe. Redline, 5400rpms, where I sent it? Past all the numbers right into where 7k would be.

It got pretty rough about 6300, but then it smoothed out and it got quiet all the sudden? Oh well, by then it was time to shift, the tach wouldn't really go any higher.

I actually ran the car past all the numbers for a continuous 10mi interval when D and OD went out on it, running 80mph down the freeway keeping up with my buddy. I can't believe it didn't blow up.

BTW, the motor had 160k miles on it.

Find me a Honda that can take that!

I would guess that the 4 cylinder does not make it's power as smoothly as an 8 or even a 6. With only 4 cylinders to fire at any one time...just can't be as smooth running as a larger engine with more cylinders.

Man, I love V8's http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
