Raced a 2001 911 Carrera 4 Coupe with my 2000GT...

...and won!!!! (That is once out of 3 times)

First run, I pull a great launch with my new Nittos (they are the best!) ... I'm ahead by at least a car or two in first, go through second even, and then he starts pulling me in... the end was to close to call (Tie we both agree).

Second run, I spin my tires like shiiit and loose right from the start.... Porsche wins.

Third run, I take out my passenger headlight for the ram air effect. I get the same launch as in the first run, except this time around he ain't pulling as fast on third gear... I win by about 3/4 of car on the quarter mile!!!!!!!!

Now before the flames start hitting, just wan't to specify my tank was almost empty, and his was full.... I believe my driver skills are superior, but this guys know how to haul azz... (Raced him the year before with his 2001 Cabriolet and always lost by about 1/2 a car lenght.)

Also beat an 86 vette and tricked up Eclipse I thought I would get clobered by there claims to low 13s... but I guess they where full of it.

What a weekend!!!!

Great kill LK. That's what I would really love to race. I'd get beat by a length or two probably, not like that old one that I raced. God kills on those "low 13's" cars too.

Lizard King:

Good kills, it is exciting to beat cars that should either beat you or be a real good race. In those situations it takes a real good driver. I could tell by your videos that you can handle a 5 spd.

BTW, I posted some of my old 1/4 mile times in the thread "can a 2001 GT covert hand with me". I just wanted to set the record straight with everyone about how the old fox body's run. It seams that people that don't know of our cars potential.

I am not starting flames here and I agree that the new mustangs run like a bat outta hell. I am even considering buying one when I get my degree in engineering in about 3 months. I just wanted people to know what our "old" cars ran with a superior driver.

I was wondering if you could post my times on those ricer boards that said our older mustangs are nothing to worry about.

No need to post them over there.
I ran a member from that ricer message board and buried him with my stock 97GT vert everyone claimed was slower than melases in January.

I'm with Lizard King. I was behind one at a stoplight this weekend, I knew he was a nutty driver because he came flying up and passed me going up to that light. He left soft and then jammed it, and so did I. I was on his tail and he added maybe 2 car lengths from like 10-80 mph...and wasn't pulling away fast at all. I would like to try that again without my passenger and take out 50 pounds of stereo in the hatchback. I thought it was going to be much different (don't they pull like 106 mph trap speeds?).

Good kill Lizard King. But that Porsche driver needs that car taken away from him until he learns how to drive it.

I was all pumped last May to do stuff for this year ... you know start with minor upgrades,...

... in Sept 2000 my wife and I got pregenant (that's the way she wants me to say it... I find it sounds weird) ... so unfortunately my priorities (financialy) have changed. I have to put money aside for the house, ... but with the way my company is running since the past year and half, I should be able to drop some major upgrades on by 2004.

It's sorta of funny ... my racing buddies in the Ottawa area is worried that I won't be able to come out anymore or have to sell the car... hehehe. I usually am the guy that'll setup the races and tell everyone where we are going.

For the time being you will have to endure me, talking about this and that with my bone stock Mustang... hehehe.

Lizard King 04-17-2001 07:21 PM

Agreed, this guy should do something about his driving anyways... he owned a 2000 911 Cabriolet Carrera4... and then uses the excuse that he has to get used to the 2001 coupe cuz it's much stiffer.

eh... He is a good friend and I have to respect him for who he is. He let me drive his 2000 last year by myself at well over 130MPH... He owns this company in Ottawa --> http://www.mediahouse.com/ and is in his late 20s.

Well, it's good things are working out for you LK. You gotta be careful with those women. Babies just be poppin outta them. It's a weird thing.

I'd bet you couldn't convince him to take it to the track.

Then again, he needs to let you drive it on the strip. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

I think Lizard's got it together just fine. Heck, i were to get pregnant (good one LK), there'd most likely be an add in the local Auto Trader for a sweet '97GT.. and i'd be negotiating a lease on a *gulp* 2001 Echo.

She, as in the pregant one, love the *******' car probably more then him with the exception of when she's sent home when she wants to play too.

That car isn't going anywhere.
