'01 RamAir TA flakes....'01 Vette challenges
My buddy in his '01 Ram Air TA totally wussed out and doesn't want to run me (he was beaten pretty bad by a '95 Cobra and he's taken it kind of hard). BUT, another friend of mine just bought a '01 yellow Vette (sweet looking if I may say so myself).....and he wants to race. I think I should be able to take him, what do they run?

A 2001 Corvette 6 spd. runs a 13.22 / 109 mph quarter mile and a 2001 corvette Z06 6 spd. runs a 12.6 / 114 mph quarter mile. If you can run qucker, GO FOR IT! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif.

With your 12.299/113, you should bust him pretty well. I think the best he'll do is about 13.2xx. We're not talking Z-06 are we? I drove a friend's '01 Vette and it is a sweet car. Not near as fast as yours though. You should be right in there with Vipers.

A viper would eat him alive, especially a new one.

No, he's got a regular '01 Vette, not a Z06. It's an extremely well balanced car (great handling/power/luxury etc etc. Either way, I'll have to put about another $25k + into my car before we can really compare apples to apples - wouldn't that be fun then? 1Bad89....thanks for the vode of confidence http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif What do stock Vipers run anyway?

92-95 Viper, yes, you are with them...they trap around 113-114. 96 and up. Sorry bud they trap near damn 120. I beat a 99 HT C5 with gears, and exhaust by about a car when I dynoed 274 rwhp...that was about a 108 trap, so yes you should take him easily. I'd be more worried about your buddies WS-6 than the vette. The ZO6's run about like your car. That would b a good race.

My buddy w/ the WS6 lost to a mid 90's Cobra (I don't think he's used to driving his car yet - he's got less that 5k on it now). I'll stick to Camaros/Vettes/t-c or s-c imports etc etc for now...and I'll save the Vipers for next year after my s/c install http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Hey bada$$lx, do you run that 12.2 on slicks? dr's?, man thats sweet, you should eat up the vette no problem, but from a roll about 50mph they can go sideways, then again im sure yours would too, man you have a similar setup that im shooting for, i want the edelbrock heads 6037's, maybe TF, or holley intake,B or E-cam and the rest...

The 12.2 was on d/r's...haven't gotten around to thinking I really need to go out and spend the $$ on slicks (after the s/c I'm sure it'll be a necessity). I like my set up.....but the way I'm thinking is that I have another $2k to spend before the s/c (up/lw cntrl arms; 1.6 r/a's; 2.5" or 3" MAC system from longtubes back). It's really a shame that $$ doesn't grow on trees http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif
