Mean Little Focus
 

Tonight I ran the Focus at the track. Let me tell you how proud I am of the little champ. I had every ricer out there coming up to me asking if I was running juice. Here's the times:

1st run: RT/ 1.485(long story about that one)
60' 2.384
ET/ 10.661
MPH/ 66.007

2nd run: RT/ 1.461(same story as other one)
60' 2.565
ET/ 10.888
MPH/ 66.182

3rd run: RT/ .930(waited on other guy)
60' 2.448
ET/ 10.879
MPH/ 65.117

On the first and second runs, The guy that was running with me, didn't want to go when I did 'cause he had a big bad Chevy (that the Focus would have stomped). So while I was waiting for him to stage, They started the tree, and before I even had the revs up, it was green. Oh well.
Not bad for a little 4 door Focus ZTS with a K&N drop in.

guess. So I said 12's or 13's. I had no
idea. I guess I was totally off. Had to look
at the time slip to believe it.

That is better than what i expected. Makes me wonder what those new svt focous can do when it comes out are have they already come out?

drop in.

I know it's not a Stang, but I guess I'm not super impressed.

The best run calculates out to about a 16.5@82mph, the worst about a 17.0@80.

I would have expected low/mid 16's out of that thing.

Well UNIT, I thought the same thing, but I was expecting a little bit worse it being a 4 door. If I could have gotten more runs in I'm sure I could have gotten into the 9's. Maybe the 9's. Well, atleast 10 flat. I just thought that it was cool that all the ricers were comming up to me asking if I had NOS. Most of them were running high 10's and low 11's. And they were all modded out. Either way, not too shabby for a stocker 4 banger. I think I'll add it to my sig now, after all it's earned it's place. Later.

No offense intended, hehehe. Maybe the air slows you down out there? I know crisp northern stuff is usually good for some extra ponies. My sister picked up a new Focus not too long ago. She really likes it. She's got the 4dr as well, but it's the SE or something like that. Heh, maybe I'll have to convince her to G-tech it? http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

I had visions of pulley's and a ZEX 25-50 shot, just for giggles(no pun intended). But I have realized that when I get hired by the company that I am a contracted helper for, I'm just gonna say screw it and bolt on a turbo. Add a waste gate and look out stock GT's!!!
Nah, I'm just going to lower it, get new wheels and tires, an exhaust system, and then maybe a few engine mods, whatever they may be. Anyway, I'm rambling...so I'm just gonna go. Later.
