00' GT vs. Twin Turbo Supra

I WAS AT THE ONTARIO STREET RACES FRIDAY NIGHT (ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO)AND MY FRIEND SET ME UP AGAINST A SUPRA. THE GUY SAID HEY HAD STALL CONVERTER, BIGGER INTERCOOLER, BOOST CONTROL AND BUNCH OF OF ELECT. STUFF I DIDN'T KNOW. HIS CAR LOOKED LIKE AN AIRPLANE COCKPIT. SO THEY LINED US UP AND I'M THINKING IN MY MIND, "THIS FOOL IS OUT OF HERE". HE POSITIONED HIMSELF AND REVVED HIS ENGINE TO ABOUT 3-4K RPM'S AND HELD IT(THANKS TO HIS STALL CONVERT.) I WAS AT ABOUT 1500 RPM'S WHEN WE BOTH LAUNCHED. I PULLED HARD ON HIM (APPROX. 2 CARS) AND FLEW THRU 1,2,3RD WHEN I SAW HIM CREEPIN ON ME. I WAS IN FOURTH GEAR AND STILL HAD HIM TILL ABOUT 100-105 MPH WHEN HE PASSED ME LIKE I WAS IN A HONDA CIVIC. I THINK I WON, BUT IT WAS TOO CLOSE TO CALL. ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT WAS A HELL OF A RACE AND I WAS PLEASED WITH THE RESULT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK; DID I WIN OR LOSE?

You were there, not us. You should have a better idea.

But... from your description (though it does depend on if you were racing 1/4 mile or not), I'd say you won.

...but hows about tryin that again? If that was really a modded Supra TT, I don't think the outcome would be the same...

I know it would've been different if the supra had a manual trans. but I was just surprised I did so well, even agianst an automatic.

Do they make auto Supra TTs ?

Are you sure that was a Supra TT (those guys love to put on badges that don't belong on their cars)? I'm no Supra expert so I wouldn't really know.

In any case, YOU WON and that was a good race so good job. You obviously have adequate driving skills.

If it was a modded Supra (not turbo) I'd have to say you won. If it was the tt Supra.....he would have passed you at about 60 mph if he hadn't already http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Yeah it was a TT supra because he popped his hood to fix his front mesh screen that was dragging on the ground. I pulled on him hard first & second, then he started creepin slowly when i went to third. All I heard were his turbos sucking me in like a vacuum. By fourth all i heard was exhaust. Hey guys i wouldn't have believed it either; good thing we got it on tape. If i find a way to upload it to my computer I'll let you check it out.

I have seen a modded Supra and well I though I was not moving the way he passed from a light.
I think his car was running bad!
