Like 02Hawk said, thats the "bare bone" SS with 325 hp. With the optional lid and exhaust, the figure is raised to 345hp. All Hawks have 345hp bare bones or not.
Just FYI.
I had it burned in my head that all these damn Mustangs were all slow. I'll admit it. Then I go to the street race scene and watch my friends modded 93 Z get waxed by an 02' Cobra. They race again, traction limited the Cobra pulls him by a car again. I was impressed. Totally changed my outlook on the later model modulars.
Then I go to our hangout at the beach to BS with some buddies. My group of f-bodies doesnt go out talking s@#$, so we can hangout with anyone. Theres a healthy group of Stangs we hangout with there. One kid has a 97' with a 4.10 and catback and ran a 12.9.

I would have never thought that with just gears.
I have total respect now though on the Stangs. I'm not even gonna talk about Lightnings.

Just comparing stock for stock, the SS does run out the Cobra in the quarter with equal drivers. You guys are totally right though with the "driver makes the difference" phrase. Thats where the race starts.
And to whomever posted .2-.4 tenths not being much, you are wrong. At the track .4 is about 3-4 car lenghts. Thats alot when you can see your opponents ET on the board!
Sorry for the long post, its my first and not my last. I am a GM guru, but I am not biased when it comes to performance. Take it easy on me guys.
