Clutch pedal and steering questions...
Hi guys...
Two questions.
1) Has anybody else really despised the closeness of the clutch and brake pedal? I have to do all sorts of weird footwork to make sure I don't a) hit the brake when I clutch b) hit the clutch when I brake and c) don't hit my feet together when I do both.
I don't like pushing the pedals with the inside edge of my feet. I've been considering having a shop either bend the clutch pedal to the left or rewelding the pedal plates on the shafts (brake and clutch).
Also, I don't like the amount of force required to push the pedal. I can handle it, but it bothers me a bit. I've also considered mounting a pedal assist spring somewhere under the dash. Something like the spring will provide assistance, but only after the pedal has been pushed down 2 or 3 inches.
Have any of you done anything like that?
2) I've heard there is a bushing either between the upper and lower steering shaft or between the lower shaft and rack that can be replaced with a poly bushing to eliminate some of the steering mushiness. If this is true, what is that bushing called (or part #) and where can I get it?
Thanks a bunch,
Rich D.
