OKAY...here it is......
People, I have a pretty quick Cobra. My advise: When it comes to endurance runs and anything involving a highway, don't race any high priced import, especially B&W, or Lexis. The fact is, and I know this by experience, those cars can haul, we just never see anyone dumb enough to spend big greens on a luxury car and race one of us "lower-classed" car owners (as they might say).
STORY TIME (FOR PROOF):
There was a new Lexis on my butt (the cheap $32,000 one that we don't even consider) and so I decided to show him what it's about while we were getting onto the highway. Granted, I took off like Hell, but from 80-120 I never epanded the gap that was created by the take-off. In fact, I think if anything, the gap was closing by a bit.
Also, I have done the highway thing with a four door beemer, and he wanted to play. We could be at 100, and when I dropped and he did...whatever he did (sequential sport-shifting...) HE would close the gap, and I could do nothing.
My mom and dad's 94 Acura Legend was hanging with me on the highway at speeds of 115 and up and at one point even passed me.
Those cars are geared for that. They don't give a hoot about racing. It's all about pushing 110 and gliding across the highway with one hand on the wheel and the other adjusting their navigation computer, or playing Beethoven's Fifth on their premium Bose System. There's only so much that you can do at those speeds anyway unless you were packing a supercharger with a six speed!!
