Well since I got my 3.73's installed on Thursday I've been looking for a race. I've been hoping for an LT1 Camero or Firebird, 'cause I think it would be real close.
But no such luck. I was driving with my wife on Highway 66 and a Riced our Celica GT-S and a riced out Integra came up from behind me and passed, weeving in and out of traffic like typical ricer morons.
It just so happens that at the next light there was one lane open and the 3 of us lined up. I was in the far left lane, then the integra and the GT-S was in the far right lane.
I hadn't lauched with the 3.73's yet and my rear tires are getting a little low on tread, so I was a little nervous.
When the light went
green . I stepped on it. Mistake! I spun bad. 3.73's are a little harder to launch. The car doesn't bog like it did with the 2.73's, but spins bad.
I was even with everyone until I got traction, hit second (chirped a little more) and
gone. I pulled 5 or 6 cars on the integra and I could not see the GT-S because it was behind the Integra (geometically speaking I would assume it was 8-12 cars back) All the way up to about 90 mph.
I love these 3.73's. They are little steep for highway driving, but I can also see why some one would want 4.10's if they were at the track. I think the 3.73's are the
all round BEST gear.
Anyway, even my wife was impressed
