first off, do not get equal shortys, I bought some bbk 1-5/8" equal shortys, and then found out it will be about a 4 hour job to put them on. if your into headers so you can bolt on the stock h-pipe for emissions like i am, i would stick to the stock headers until you have ported your heads/aftermarket heads and intake.

you could also look at underdrive pulleys, ram air, a shifter (example Steeda Tri-Ax).......
