If you've already got a block, then why not get the stroker kit. Unless you've got a huge budget, wouldn't it be a bit cheaper than getting the 351, then having it rebuilt, and all the stuff to make it work (different lower intake for fuelies, cam, lifters, pushrods, motor mounts, etc.). Sure you might need that stuff for a stroker, but they're less expensive to get than for a 351 block, at least when I priced the stuff out.

You could just put all your stuff from your existing 302 onto the stroker and just upgrade from there because all the stuff you'd need would basically be for a 302 with some extra breathing capacity. And its nice to lift the hood open, and say yeah, its just a little 302. 351's are easy to spot vs. a 302.
