Actually, it's kinda funny. The only time I've gotten the flu in the past 10 years was when I went to Florida to visit my Mother for Christmas for like 2 or 3 years in a row. At first I thought I was catching it in the airport/plane, but after a while, I started to suspect something in my Moms house. I even thought it might be in my head, and was just me missing my Mom, but I was really sick each time, including fever/chills/cough/congested, etc. Anyway, this bug first started two weeks ago, but since we were having strong winds, I just figured it was my allergies. No big deal, but after a week, I was just too wiped out to do anything. It was then that I got "that taste" that smokers get when they are sick, a non-ending cough, and a 103 fever, and I knew it was more than allergies. I felt so helpless, it's rediculous. Really. I survive much tougher hardships on my own regularly, but this just felt worse without my Mom there. I know that sounds really bad, and I can't explain it, other than to say that your theory is pretty accurate.
Take care,
-Chris
