Its not so much the ponies, its the weight and hoses...

Sure, you might save 1hp, undoing that extra pulley. THe A/C get automatically shut down on full throttle (not like you should have it on at the track anyways). The biggest thing, is getting rid of the extra weight off the nose of your car. THATS what I was after.
