Before they got signed they played this little club by my house called CHAMPS all the time. Ive met them on several different occasions and not only are they quite screwed up, but now that they've gotten big its all gone to their heads.
personally i think theyre just trying to make their image look like something its really not. maybe its a biased opinion but thats just my $.02
