1bad89 is absolutely right. The 4 cylinder T5 has a MUCH lower torque rating than a V8 T5. I've heard of people using it in V8 powered stangs without trouble, but that's because they didn't abuse it or race. The pedals will work, but i wouldn't trust that 4 cylinder T5 as far as i could throw it (which wouldn't be that far). I don't know the exact torque rating, but i know that they used cheaper lower quality parts to save a few nickels on each one they made. The T5 in my car is rated at like 280 ft/lbs and later ones were 300 (or around there) because the fuel injected stangs had more torque, and i also believe on the '93 Cobra they put in the T5 Z-transmission (i may be talking out of my *** on that one), so T5's are made borderline strong for their application, so i'd be very of suspicious of the anemic 4 cylinder's tranny.
