Well here's the verdict. When we got there, i watched a couple cars run to see how the track was running. It looked like some of the pro cars were hooking fairly well so I decided to leave the air pressure like it was. I unloaded the car off the trailer, checked the plugs, adjusted the timing, jetted up the nitrous to a 200 first stage, then 175 second stage. I talked to the camaro guy, my buddy held our money and we got into the staging lanes together. We both did our burnouts. I did a little longer burnout than usual to try and get some good heat in the slicks. I brought it out of the burnout box. brought the revs up and gave him a couple good stout revs to show him what's up. He does the same. So I purge the nitrous twice. Stage and wait....and wait....and wait....this guy took forever to stage. When he finally lit the first bulb, we had a little staging game. I was trying to psyche him out. I rev'd, he rev'd, finally he lit the stage bulb, then i eased in easy, held the transbrake, brought the rpm up to 5500, light came down, car hooked like a ROCKET!!! It just shot out like a cannon. I feel the first stage come in, then the second. I look over and don't see him ANYWHERE. I look back and he's probably about 7 or 8 cars back. Maybe more. I pull the chute, hit the return road, get my timeslip, and got my best e.t. so far.....4.64 169mph!!! I waited for him, to come back down, and he said his car had a fouled plug. I said well should have checked everything before hand. Anyway, he was cool about it, gave me props about my car, and i gave him some about his. Oh well, $1,000 for me!!! That's gonna go into my savings account.lol Just thought i'd let everyone know the results!!!
