I would swap distribtors just to single that out. You want around 36 total advance why is it pulling timing out, on a NA car you should have no problem with 36 degrees total advance.

Something sounds restricted not sure if the stock intake would do that but with that cam and gear ratio it is putting you in the rpm band faster.
