tony, what im trying to say is that most people dont understand what i asked you and that question is what determines what heads intake and exhaust you use. a 302 with x amount of work will only consume x amount of air at any given rpm. v.e. is the measure of how well your motor uses the air and fuel to make power. it also takes a certain amount of air speed and gas speed to acheive near perfect v.e. (volumetric effeciency). so, by choosing a big head with alot of flow you are therefore reducing power and being counter productive to other work you have performed. the big craze now is big alluminum heads. unfortunately, noone realizes that theyre not going any faster than they use to. 13 years ago when mass air came out we were going high 12's with stock stuff. they didnt make all the stuff you have today. yet now, everyone spends money to go slow. jeff and others in his class go fast because theyre motors work well with the heads they use. spending alot of money on heads that are too big will only hurt performance and your wallet. if jeff can go 11's with small heads, intake and cam then why on earth do you need to get bigger stuff?
