Ah yes, the mysterious Jack-a-lope. There's nothing they can't do, depending on the storyteller!

Reminds me: My ex's family owns a place called Pine Mountain Inn. It's up in the middle of the Los Padres National Forest, 30 miles from civilization, and doesn't even have a phone or electricity (they have a HAM and a generator). It's been there for close to 100 years, and is pretty much a hole-in-the-wall bar/restaurant that used to be a stagecoach stop. It's a very popular stop for bikers and adventuresome tourists. Anyway, they have dozens of stuffed animals, that have been killed up there, all over the bar/restaurant walls, including a Jack-a-lope. Most people leave there convinced they actually exist because they saw one on the wall. Funny as hell listening to some dad explain it to his kids, not even sure he believes himself!
